Can't wait to read this one! I'll never forget hearing him read from "Martín and Meditations on the South Valley" when I lived in Albuquerque years ago. His blunt raw rhythm with words evoked the pain & beauty of a tough place, the pride & shame in the unique history & present of a lot of poor brown folks there. Writing teachers of students who "don't like to read" -- how do you like to teach this book or his others?

Goldfrancine I have not had a chance to teach using his book. However I would like to have that opportunity!
