She deserves better of the reading public, though the young adult format of her work is one that is not often discussed with kids these days.
Andre Norton was one of the first women to write in science fiction and fantasy markets, and she was up against the likes of Robert Heinlein in the marketplace. There are a lot of folk who have redone her themes since, but she did an excellent job then and is worth reading now.(less)
