It is not listed as such and I don't believe that the author has said yes or no to that question. If you are asking what you might find objectionable, I would say that there might be a few (not many) words which could offend some. There is some violence, but the scenes make sense in the situations depicted and given the nature of the characters. The violence depicted could not be described as gratuitous. There are not graphic depictions of sexual situations. If you want to know if love shines through it all, I would say yes. These are good, and sometimes flawed, people. The voice of Bertie is authentic and I loved getting to know her and her kin and learning what it was like to live in that time and place. It was a book in which I loved to linger . At the same time, I couldn't put it down for wondering what would happen next. I gave it 5 stars.(less)
