Is this book worth my reading? I read voraciously and have recently read Paulette Jiles' News of the world and Simon the Fiddler.

I loved the book but did anyone else feel robbed by the ending?

Paula Globerman It is bittersweet and complicated like the whole story. It allows you to write your own ending .

How many chapters does this book have?

Might be a weird question, but Shira? It's a modern Hebrew name, was not popular in Poland in that period, and although its meaning is clear, it is an extremely unlikely choice for a name in Pre-Holocaust Poland (as it was not even popular in Mandatory Palestine at the time, where modern Hebrew was spoken and people tried to give their children Hebrew names). Is there any explanation in the book regarding this naming?
