The main character is a teenager and the topics are very teenagery, but it's baked into a whole plot of being royalty and having outsized responsibility with a minimum of power, kind of like being a teenager.

Apparently some people are concerned about their teens hearing...*checks notes* swearwords and *checks other notes* "adult topics" which I presume to mean sex. If those are concerns for you (and I think anyone worrying about their 14yo hearing swearwords or reading about sex has very, very unrealistic expectations) I still think the book is fine.(less)
