Having just finished the Golden Fool I'm curious to know if this book is as exciting as it seems whith the characters set to go on a quest?

I just got to chapter 18, "Ice," and just noticed the name Hest pop up. It's not THAT Hest is it? From the Rain Wilds Chronicles? I haven't seen (or at least mentally acknowledged) the name in the Farseer books yet, but I can't tell if I should hate this guy or not. If this is answered later you can just tell me to shut up and keep reading :)
