Remember the previous president was named Daniels and his physical description and his policies did not reflect anything of Obama's term in office. I was a little annoyed at the reference because it has nothing to do with the storyline of the novel.(less)

Why bitter rhetoric and antipathy toward the Presidency? it appears the author introduced his personal negative sentiment US Presidency. It drastically changed the character and dialog of Cotton Malone. I was tempted to just close the book. The author's introduction of opinion didn't give me a feeling of fighting an evil or diabolical enemy, more a testimony of political view. More Amber Room or my last book. Boo
