The authors state in the book that they would take action if anything like this were to happen again in this country. Did the authors take any action or speak up regarding the children forcibly taken from 5,000 families at the border and housed in cages with only a thin foil blanket? Did they speak out about the children dying while in custody of the United States Government?

Before she was able to be tried in Court, she died of cancer. Please read the first book, "Before We Were Yours", which explains the story of how Ms. Georgia Tann secured the children, ran the Tennessee Children Home Society (which was wretched), and how she found adoptive parents.

She was an evil woman who preyed upon the poor during the depression years and through WWII.

This true story (written as fiction) has nothing to do with the US Government or immigrant families. (less)

Was there another hospital service in Arizona that did the same heinous act of adopting out orphans illegally in 1947? A friend just learned of this and found he and his siblings were all separated. Now he learns of a twin brother! The biological mother had 20 children. Parents are dead. Can there be another hospital in AZ who committed the same crime? Thanks.

One of the problems with this book is that the author portrays this inhumane behavior toward children and families as a one-off. It most definitely is not and continues to this day.
