Julia I suggest starting with Pawn of Prophecy (this one), then Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit, Castle of Wizardry, and Enchanters' End Game. Then ABSO…moreI suggest starting with Pawn of Prophecy (this one), then Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit, Castle of Wizardry, and Enchanters' End Game. Then ABSOLUTELY read "Belgarath the Sorcerer" and "Polgara the Sorceress." They spoil some of the secrets of The Belgariad, but I will admit that I read them first. They are amazing prequels to the series. I can't speak to as to when to read The Mallorean, but probably after the above seven. Also it is not totally necessary to read The Mallorean... I believe it a just another take on the same tale. :)(less)

As for David and Leigh Eddings at least one doesn't support them anymore. Both are long dead (Leigh died in 2007, David in 2009) and all proceeds from their estate go to Reed College in Portland, Oregon.(less)
