I haven't read the book yet, but isn't it a Tautology to say any subjective experience, or the feeling of being alive is consciousness, and vice-versa? From whence does the feeling of being alive arise from? How does one account for any given subjective experience? Who is feeling alive, and what is having a subjective experience? Consciousness? But how is consciousness arising to feel alive, and have an experience?

A reviewer on Amazon, whom I haven't found here, said this: "Why is it so impossible to imagine the soul (the unconscious mind?) of each entity having its source in a sort of oversoul, the unconscious experience of the universe itself, perhaps akin to Jung's collective unconscious?" My addition: Or even the Akashic field or record, perhaps? Is there a name for that?
