This is a novel ( it says so on the cover) ; however it is filed under the Dewey decimal system at libraries . Does anyone know why ?

Although most public libraries in the US put their fiction titles under fiction, the DDC does have a legitimate number for fiction depending on the language, in this case 823.914. If that's not the number the library used, then I can't suggest a good reason.(less)
