This book is amazing. It also covered the treatment of Australia's native peoples which struck a cord with the present Canadian native people's treatment during our history as a country. This opened a whole new area of WW 2 that I was unaware of - shipping orphans to Australia. Many were shipped to Canada too and many had horrible experiences here as well. Just WOW! Did anyone else find this as moving as I did?

I'm an Aussie and we were never taught about the Stolen Generation in school only until 2010 was it acknowledged after our then PM Kevin Rudd apologised to all the victims. I've read quite a few WW2 books but this is the first book that covered what happened to the orphans. An emotional read! (less)
