Why would the children (and their teachers) leave what they thought of as a safe haven with some hair-brained scheme to save the pottery class? How could they have saved them? With some branches and quotes from Shakespeare? They would have simply been mown down by the automatic weapons which the terrorists wielded. No sane teacher would have allowed them to go outside. And it's not like there wasn't another solution available to the author: one of the children could have discovered the bomb in the props area where it was apparently hidden. This is much more pedestrian than the poetic re-enactment of Macbeth, I realise, but slightly more realistic. (less)
