Are you willing to endure the minor inconvenience of learning to live a vegan lifestyle to ensure a viable planet for future generations? Once you make the commitment, do a little research, and learn to cook differently, it's easy.(less)

The rest by live stock. There are huge savings to be made if we just eat the soy, bypassing the cow. A vegan breakfast is not necessarily more expensive than a meat breakfast, regardless of whether you eat it in a brownstone or elsewhere.(less)

In practice, while the individual can go vegan, you cannot get the entire country (or world) to go vegan or even close under capitalism. Nor can you end fossil fuels, deal with homelessness, reverse inequality, and do any number of other reasonable things. Yet demanding these things sounds (and is) reasonable. By eating plants directly instead of feeding them to animals first, you save between 60% (poultry) and 90% (beef) of the ressources that are needed to produce your food.(less)
