As a school librarian, I am required to review every book to make sure it doesn't have explicit sex or promote suicide in any way. By the reviews, I highly doubt it has either of these, but I don't have time to read every book. Can anyone give me a hand with this? Thank you!

There is scenes where they talk in depth…moreIt is appropriately graphic for the age group. For an adult it is a glossing over the horrible nature of war. There is scenes where they talk in depth about trying to dodge enemy fire on the beach. They do talk about a person losing their leg or foot. Again, it was appropriately graphic for the age group. Mostly the book focuses on the interpersonal struggle of a soldier to stay in battle. I don't think it promotes suicide and it does not have any sex scenes. I read this as a reprieve from the world with a brain that has struggled thru COVID. (less)
