In the right caves, it's beautiful.

I cave dive but only in the crystal clear and relatively warm waters of Mexico, and I'll admit that while every once in a while my lizard brain has a moment of "wtf am I doing here?!?!?", for 99.99% of the time it is serene and zen and incredible. There is a lot of safety and redundancy built into the practices for cave diving (for example, we bring 3 torches per person so that even if one fails we have not one but *two* left as we make our way out) and most cave divers never do exploration, we simply follow in the footsteps (fin-steps?) of the explorers before us.(less)
