I am super skeptical about this. I originally wasn't going to read it as it seemed more of an unnecessary money grab coming off the popularity show, but now it's been longlisted for the 2019 Giller Prize and I don't doubt it will make the shortlist. So I guess I will read it and to see if it holds up as a sequel to the first book. Is anyone else going in with skeptical expectations?

On page 316, Aunt Lydia references three books in Commander Judd's library: Dore's Inferno, Dali's Alice in Wonderland and Picasso's Lysistrata. What's Atwood doing here? Is Lydia just remembering the authors wrong? Have the books been cut up and remixed somehow? Recreated from someone's faulty memory? What does it mean?

Check them out - the pictures are amazing and very different from the ones we usually associate with Alice.(less)
