Is there anything in this book that would make it unsuitable for my 12-year-old son to read? He's a very advanced reader for his age, and devours similar books, and I don't recall Michener ever really doing sex scenes, but I like to check first that it's all OK for a young mind.

Everything Michener has written is fine for a child or just about any age of child to read. Most just can't stay that attentive for such a long read.

If your son starts reading Michener's books he will be amazed at how much he will learn and hopefully will encourage him to travel.
