If you don't read the previous novels, you will miss out on back story and character development that are crucial to understanding and engaging in the story. Butch has been a major character since the first book and without reading the 1st three, it will be difficult to fully enjoy this one. Don't worry though, you'll like the others!(less)

Just finished reading this book and enjoyed it just as much as the first 3 ... I've always loved the romantic side of the vampire genre ... don't understand the bad comments on the series and/or this book ... I think each brother has their own personality and are funny and full of emotional pain and vulnerability (though they deny it because they feel they're not allowed to be vulnerable) ... keep writing!!?

Do we get to know who Butch's real father is? Does it get revealed in the other books?

I just finished this book and I feel like this is a stupid question but.. why did Butch need to undergo ancestor regression to know his bloodline or if he has vampire blood in him? He could have just gone to Havers as John did. Or if Havers wasn't able, why? Butch was a human, but wouldn't Havers have checked it if he had no vampire blood in him?
