Some are less connected than others, so ones like Elantris are easy stand-alones while some minor parts of Stormlight Archive are much clearer after reading Warbreaker. Their magic systems are all derived from a common source, and it has the same overarching lore. However, non-Cosmere stories aren't connected, so Skyward is separate from those series, as are the Reckoners books, etc.(less)

Not ex…moreFor other teen scifi I would suggest checking out Heart of Iron and Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston. There are just the two books in the series. Not exactly the same, but still scifi for teens and very fun. I would also recommend the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness and I really liked Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis. Stiching Snow is a teen scifi retelling of Snow White. Hope this helps! :)(less)

Did the publisher and Target have some kind of issue versus a more general delay of the book's release? I preordered the hardcover version there months ago and have had the estimated delivery date bumped at least twice--including after the hardcover was purportedly released elsewhere--and now it's not showing up through a regular product search even though they still sell the first book.
