At the end of book one, Little Girl Lost, there is an excerpt for what was supposedly book two, Little Boy Blue, that continues with the story....although the readers were not made aware of the fact that the book had a sequel prior to reading book one, much less that it is a trilogy, until recently. Now, this book is titled Dead Silence and does not continue with the story from book one as we are lead to think?

I'm confused. I read Staub wanted to explore Barnes' past in three books: book 1 starting in 1960 and jumping to the 1980s; book two picking up in the 1990s; and finally, book 3 set in "present day". From the Goodread preview, book 2 jumps to 2016. Is there any mention of Detective "Gingersnap" Leary, the female detective Barnes worked with and had started a relationship with since Staub's "Bone White"?

Did anyone else when in the Goodreads giveaway and not receive their book yet? It ended on 7/19/19 and today is 8/29/19 and I still haven't received my win. I was so excited for this book.
