I've just finished this book and I have a question: for the first good part of the book the author refers to H as his partner, right? And during the final pages he mentions a boyfriend named J. So I understand that he broke up with H in the meantime. But just to clarify, H was a woman or a guy?

Cidney H is male and they parted, his new partner whom he married is J.
