I was raised liberal and drifted rightward. The mass murders of the communist world and self dealing of the political classes were noticed. TARP money went to banksters. No one went jail. I am devouring everything Michael Hudson has to say. I voted for Trump and can't get enough of a self described Trotskyist. I am confused. Any comments?

"The mass murders of the communist world": so these places were doing just fine prior? These places were colonized/peripheries to capitalism and tried to escape via rapid industrialization. Look at capitalism's industrialization record from the 1500s-1800s: colonies, slaves, satanic mills until domestic workers were able to organize for public sanitation/education/social services.

"self dealing of the political classes": so, politicians = Government = Left/socialism? How is production organized in these states? Is it predominantly private endless accumulation driven by profit (i.e. capitalism)? Capitalism without a state is more utopic than full communism according to history.

"banksters": admit it, these are the best capitalists. If your bottom line is profit instead of social needs, the winners ruthlessly externalize costs/risks. (less)
