Did anyone else spot the huge error at the beginning of Chapter 22?

I have looked for Up on the Rooftops on Amazon US and UK, as well as other sites, and I can't find it. I also asked my child's librarian friend, the all-knowing source, and she has no idea. Is this a real book? Who is the author? I would love to read it.

As soon as Hari mentions that the boat he was hiding in was pushed asea by "the monster" I was half expecting to discover that Mary's mom or Ramsay's "girlfriend" or someone else had come along and given it a shove out into the water.
