Have any of you read the original Planet of the Apes? I'm about 3/4 of the way through it and am enjoying it more than any of the movie iterations. It's interesting sci-fi.

Printed novels/ stories are always better than a film adaptation because written material gives writer full freedom to use his imagination, whereas film has to show them to viewers and many such things are not possible or not practical, not cost-effective to show.(less)
