It is not clear from the hardcopy of of the American version that this is a squeal to Bronte Mettlestone. Are they connected?

I haven't read The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone yet, so I can happily say that The Slightly Alarming Tale ... is perfectly good as a standalone, I thoroughly enjoyed it.(less)
