Not sure if you've already chosen this book for your book club or not, but I saw your question and wanted to provide an answer. My book club chose this book as our August book. Now, we do sometimes tend to veer off topic a bit, but we do try to stay on topic. We had a lot of discussions about the politics of the new republic and how similar modern politics are. We also talked about Eliza and Alexander's relationship. I think there's a lot of good material to discuss, and the edition that I read even had a discussion guide in the back. Hope this helps!
