You won't be depressed, but you might get insights into someone who is suffering from extreme grief and depression. I think it's just about real life more than anything.

This is from my previous answer to your first question and I hope this helps...

Although not "uplifting", this about life and a part of life is ultimately some form of suffering. No one is immune to the good just like no one is immune to the bad. Life will bring everyone to their knees - if not today, if not tomorrow, someday. To me, it happened at 25 years old.

This book is about my spouse who tragically died and so the overall framework and inspiration came from extreme grief - but a lot of poems are just about life. Some are about my struggle with Bipolar Disorder. Some are about my struggle to relate to others. A lot of the poems are about love - love for my spouse and the life we once shared. Raised in the American South, a lot of poems are about the Texas wilderness and wide open spaces.

I myself, find comfort in discovering art that I can find myself reflected in - there is a comfortability in finding someone who has endured something so tragic and somehow gotten out of it, or at least through it. I would say if you are looking for an uplifting book, maybe this isn't for you.

Hope this helps. I really hope you do read it, and let me know what you think!(less)
