Did I miss something? How did Evan become independently wealthy enough to maintain several safe houses, multiple vehicles,and the have the ability to give away large sums of money to those he rescued?

Liz Warner Jack transferred huge sums of money into accounts for Evan before he sent him on missions. One book mentions 8 figures! Not bad for government work.
