There is some swearing, but intimacy is only assumed between husband and wife and not shown. I’d say book 2 was a little violent but just the one scene and it’s not overly descriptive. She does a great job at this. (less)

I would recommend both, but you should at least read The Queen of Attolia first to truly appreciate the politics and history of this world. (less)
