The atmosphere of Where Dreams Des…moreThe book is said to be a mix of Caraval and The Night Circus. I think it is more like The Night Circus in its plot. The atmosphere of Where Dreams Descend does not match that of Caraval or The Night Circus. It has more of a gritty feel to it. I don't think the themes of Caraval can be found in Where Dreams Descend. The only similarities are the circus based competition and the unexplained magic system.(less)
