I'm still reading this book but I was wondering why the notes from the Psychiatrist, Madeline Gideon are dated September 2018, when the attack on Cora occurred in April 2018. Gideon's notes are clearly pertaining to visits with Cora & family just days after the incident. Will this be explained later?

Did anyone else notice the typo on page 112 of the book stating that Cora was getting into the car instead of Violet?...

The description sounds very similar to the Slender Man case. Is the book based on that true crime?

MaryAnn Heather refers to that case in the reader guide as an inspiration but then made it her own plot.
