A friend, whose bookclub has picked "The Gown" just learned that the Holocaust plays a role in the book. My friend find herself very upset over that event and is leery about reading another book that incorporates the holocaust into the story. How big a part does it play in the story? Does the line continue throughout the book? Any advice I can pass on to her? Thanks.

Although one the of main characters had lived through and been affected by the Holocaust, the horrors of this period were not detailed. The story was ultimately triumphant.(less)
