I read the Hogg siblings' book. Impressed greatly with their conviction to change the world. My friends and I did something like that in the Sixties, in college, and succeeded in raising consciousness about civil rights and civil liberties. It was a war for hearts and minds, as I'm sure anyone who knows American history would confirm. I'm dedicating my new YA novel to MSD to show my support. What else can I do?

It is suicide, domestic violence, police brutality, mass shootings, gang violence, and local shootings. There is the *seemingly* easy task of regulating who has guns to prevent these things. (Provided we show up at the polls and vote.) Then there is the harder task of preventing someone from wanting to hurt someone else. Perhaps the best thing you can do is invest in youth, because support systems matter. Also, maybe instead of dedicating your novel to MSD, dedicate it to those affected by gun violence. (less)
