History sets the framework with one of the the bloodiest wars in New Mexico history. Love, like we know it does, ratchet-ups the emotion. I would say it's a good 50/50 mix.

I asked, myself, "Does the world need another Billy the Kid story?" I knew my rendition had to be the hills version I grew up with. Billy was bilingual, ran with Yginio Salazar, and loved the senoritas. That's what served as my framework. As Scott Momaday says, "Anything for Billy." Thanks for asking that question.(less)
