This looks like it was taken directly from the television show Extinct that was aired on BYUTV (or at www.byutv.org/extinct) and written by Aaron Johnston (co-writer of the Formic Wars series with Card). What is the relationship between Johnston's series and the Card novel?

Card is executive producer and co-writer on the show. Card is a practicing member of LDS, "a great great grandson of Brigham Young", and alumni of BYU. The show itself promotes strong family values and personal relationships. All of the above should show a trend.

The show was cancelled after only one season, probably because of low ratings.. the subject matter and presentation being too advanced for most people. Personally enjoyed it, and will read all 3 books as they become available.

Unanswered Questions (1)

I had messaged OSC on this when the book was bumped to the 2035 release date and his wife replied saying the publisher wanted Card to stick with the Ender series which had a guaranteed market rather than start a new series (it was originally going to be a trilogy). She said he was interested still in the project, but that was years ago so who knows where he stands on it now…someone needs to ask at a signing about it?
