Feminism also concerns men, as it advocates for an equality between sexes and an upheaval of the oppressive system of masculinity that prevents either sex from diverging from the stereotypes associated with them. In that way, this book is a feminist tale because it deals with issues of masculinity and men trying to squash their real identities for fear of becoming an outcast. Of course, anti-Semitism is also tied up in those fears, but that's what makes this book so wonderfully complex. (less)

Someone must have connected Joe to his dad and sent the Golem his way.

I once had a suitcase mysteriously show up on my doorstep via an airline because a receipt that listed my name and home address was found in the bag. Yet I have no idea who the bag belonged to or how my receipt (from the post office in Spain!) ended up in this guy's bag. (less)
