Just to name a few things: unlike in the Rosie Project the male character is not actually looking to get involved with a woman, he is forced to. This is a more serious read with more emotional complexity. The female character is not exactly what I'd call a rule breaker, she is motivated by need and she is not in your face bold like in the Rosie Project, mostly just understatedly courageous. The novels read very differently. The Rosie Project is more about the comedy, I'd say this is more about the feelings. Also, my memory may fail me, but in the Rosie Project, the male protagonist was not actually autistic (?)(less)

So she can get citiz…moreThe way I understood, she doesn’t marry Khai because she finds her dad, who clearly wants a relationship with her and her mother. So she can get citizenship that route and still figure things out with Khai instead of a shotgun wedding for a green card. Since the story unfolded with her finding her courage to do things on her own and make something of herself, I think given the opportunity her character would wait to marry. (less)
