It takes place sligh…moreI just finished "Spying on the South" where he retraced several trips taken by Frederick Law Olmsted shorty before the Civil War. It takes place slightly more west, not so much on the coast, but still, in 2015-16, Horowitz found that not much had changed. It's especially interesting because the 2016 election takes place towards the end of the book. Looking at the rise of white nationalism and the civil unrest taking place now (July 2020) I would say that nothing has changed at all.(less)
