What is the "Walkie Kar" that Chester fraudulently sells at the beginning of the book? There's no description of what it is besides having handlebars and a seat. Is it some kind of bike? I've googled it and found absolutely nothing besides quotes from the book itself.

I noticed a few typos in this book. Shame on virago classic press... What I consider a vital mistake is that Rydal has to go to the French Consulate General to straighten out his passport (last page). However, there would be no French embassy or consulate in France?!
