I always visualized this book as a stand-alone. I know the ending left questions as to how the characters would fare in the future, and that was a conscious decision. I wanted to leave readers with the opportunity to make their own decisions on how things might turn out after all (perhaps not all, but a good part) of the drama receded into the background and life moved forward for all characters.

If I continue to receive feedback that readers want to see more of Carissa and her endeavors, then I would be willing to rethink my position. That's the best part of writing fiction--the ending can always be the beginning of something new.(less)
