It's not 'sheltering'; people can still read the book knowing what it has in it, imagine that! Next thing you'll be saying that describing the premise is wrong, or listing the genre, or the page count. It's all just more information to help people decide whether they want to read the book or not. Don't you like to know whether a book is a romantic lighthearted read or a dark story about war before you read it? Most people do, so that they can pick up the book they're in the mood for!(less)
