It does refer back to things which happen in the first three stories but they are given a context (without getting too mired in explanations). (less)

Like dish plates crashing etc. Bam is Rosette's "spirit animal" which is a monkey. He is only visible to believers and to others he is just her "imaginary friend". (less)

Is it me? Did I miss something? What WAS Reynaud's tattoo? Or if it wasn't described (as Vianne's was. lovingly) what might it have been, or even what SHOULD it have been. (The author's opinion is just as valid as any individual reader's, by the way...)
