This is set in the indeterminate future correct? Then why would a character be described as Vietnamese-looking? I would think this is pretty far removed from Vietnam. Also...why are residents of the futuristic city "reading the morning paper"? We don't even do that in 2020! If the author keeps taking me out of the future, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to finish this book.

I'm about halfway through. Is there more action in the next books?? If the rest of this book (and the series) are all political chatting and people being mean to her unjustly (while she rolls over and takes it), I'll skip it. BTW: I doubt that a male android perfect killing machine would be so passive. The passivity bugs me A LOT. Devi Morris in the Paradox series is human and a lot more kickass than this android.

The other books have action randomly throughout but the political intrigue is always there and will not go away. As Anand said in the other statement, the main character is trying to avoid conflict. But there are many situations that arise through the series where she cannot, so she doesn't. This question was quite some time ago. I hope you stuck with the book.(less)

apologies, there seems to be a text limit. i liked spiral wars. looking for another series by same author. the writing quality (not story!) is atrocious. painful as hell to read. need help, please tell me the series is worth it and/or the later books cleans up the writing? the sentences read like horrible chatroom cybersex. there are numerous other failings, but this one makes me want to delete it the sample. thanks!
