I remember being so confused by mentions of belts when I read it around the same time as you! But now that those references are gone, I miss them. Haha! As for the rest of the book, I think it is absolutely relevant and relatable to today’s girls. I don’t think your daughter would find it old fashioned at all. I think it’s noticeable that it’s from a different time, but many of the experiences and feelings are the same. (less)
