Your novel features a number of characters who actually helped the Allies attain victory in World War II (Eisenhower, Churchill, etc.). Was it at all intimidating to put words into the mouths of these historical characters?

You must be true to the person's "voice". The speech pattern, vocabulary level they used, attitudes, fears. And many other considerations must be taken into account, such as, did they use profanity. It is a great help to see/hear these characters on film. Picking a historical character that people are familiar with presents bigger challenges than if you were using someone who live in the Middle Ages where little was know as to how they spoke. (less)
