Have I lost my mind? Is the synopsis above correct? I've just finished The Pure in Heart and don't remember anything about a girl and her mother becoming close to their next door neighbor.

It is the synopsis of the third Simon Serrailler novel, The Risk of Darkness.

The Pure in Heart doesn't have a definite ending, the case is left in a limbo while The Risk of Darkness starts 8 months after David Angus's abduction, and Simon is sent to Yorkshire when another boy has been snatched without any witnesses and leads. I have just started reading TRoD and can confirm the presence of Ed (the neigbour), the single mother and her daughter.(less)

There was a point made towards the end of the book where Richard very specifically wanted to talk to Simon about something. It’s made very clear by Richard to his wife it’s not about her activities shall we say. This is left unresolved, which is irritating, unless I missed something. What did Richard want to say to Simon?
