Although the book is very well written, with clear, easily-understood prose, I doubt if it will hit the target audience. By Kukutani's own arguments, the general public will wait for the one-hour TV documentary that distills her theses into one or two short sound-bites rather than spend a couple of hours reading and thinking. Sad but true! The folks who do pick up the book, and I can see the reviews here reflect my own experience with it, will find they already believe her explanation of how we got to "the death of truth" and are still left wondering what to do about it.(less)
