Why are reviewers not acknowledging the fact that entire premise is utterly ridiculous? A virus that can get past the immune system of every animal except human? The idea that ANYBODY would want to eat people just because they can’t get their morning bacon or cheeky Nandos, let alone enough people to make cannibalism government policy?

Seb I know right, that’s why I hate those Marvel films too! All that flying around and super powers - just utterly ridiculous!

He had just lost his father, his wife is estranged and he found a little joy in playing with these puppies.

Then, they are violently ripped from him senselessly because of the violence of the present world and its new philosophies.

So, this was not a rehashing of the same statement.

On the other hand, the author may have been pushing for the reader's extra sympathy or disgust as well. Despite entire chapters being dedicated to detailed slayings and cruel experimentation of actual humans , there are some people who don't have the intended reaction until it is depicted as being done to an animal.(less)

I know this is petty, but near the beginning the German guy, Egmont, who was touring El Gringo's breeding centre: he said not to the sandwich, then on the next page, he's eating the sandwhich? Did something get lost in translation there?
