As I understand it, it was supposed to be a plot twist, but reading it and knowing doesn't really ruin the whole book or anything. And yes, I suppose the kings are part dragon, but I think there's some sort of ceremonial thing with the wedding that makes it impossible for the queens to turn back into dragons (?). Because the prince's mother knew, but she never changed back. So maybe that makes the women more suppressed dragons than overall dragons? It's kind of open to interpretation. Maybe this helped maybe not. (less)
